Phuket

Just a quick update to say that we believe that although Phuket has a name for beautiful beaches - we disagree!

The Best Beaches team recently went to Phuket and stayed in Patong (apparently the #1 Beach in Phuket) and found it over crowded, dirty and there seemed to be many scammed about!

This is not to say that Phuket is not a beautiful place to visit! We just felt the beaches in Phuket have a massive name for been beautiful when they are not!!! We also saw a few people get scammed by Jet Ski owners which was a big turn off.

From what we read the same thing does happen in Pattaya (Thailands other, major Beach area) so it might be best to avoid Thailand if you are set on enjoying the beach! - We did love the nightlife in Phuket and intend on going back just for that. If you are looking for a top place to party then we suggest at looking through Phuket Deals in the Phuket Travel Deals section as they offer very cheap rates for a great place to visit!
